The Jquiz module also allows you to create activities where students have to type in an answer. You can decide if you set up one or several correct answers.

To create a short answer activity, open the Jquiz module and select “Short answer” from the drop-down menu on the right hand side of the question box.

Bear in mind that sometimes you may be interested in writing several possible correct answers, especially when it comes to punctuation.

Like all open response activities, writing some guidelines to find out the correct answer in the feedback box and providing a link to the right answers may be necessary to make sure that all students can really learn from this activity. If students keep trying and never get the correct answer, they will appreciate it if they can see what the solution was, and therefore analyze why they kept failing.
